Job Title: Business Development Manager
Salary: Up to £45,000 plus £40,000 uncapped commission
Location: London
Type: Permanent, flexible working
Our cleint is looking for a Business Development Manager to drive exhibition sales revenue from previously lapsed exhibitors, from adjacent market sectors, from new regions and from new entrants to the market. This critical business development role will support the Account Management function and ensure a continuous flow of new and returning exhibitors.
Responsibilities:
Generate exhibition sales revenue from non-renewal exhibitors.
- To focus on all Exhibition Space related products – Space Only, Shell Scheme, Content Everywhere, Outside Exhibits, Meeting Space
- To structure and manage prospect lists through the CRM – by Technology area, by Region etc.
- To maintain and report on ongoing pipeline of prospects
- To ensure effective handover of each sale to the relevant Account Manager
- To work with the wider SAM team to ensure effective communications on target lists, prospects and converted business.
- To continuously look for efficiencies in how to cover targeted companies as effectively as possible.
- To identify wider sponsorship sales opportunities from all prospects and won business.
- To work alongside the sponsorship sales team to maximise and expand each sales opportunity.
- Develop specific plans to identify and convert priority areas and growth opportunities from the identified target areas.
- Experience
- Skills specification A strong track record of sales achievements underpinned by demonstrable sales techniques. Excellent formal presentation skills. Ability to understand and clearly communicate features and benefits from new concepts and create sales collateral. Ability to ‘close’ new business and present to multiple stakeholder groups. A good relationship builder at C level globally including working with and understanding other cultures Excellent oral and written communication skills, plus a good working knowledge of CRM systems. A strong negotiator and closer both internally and externally.

High energy, self motivated Flexible and proactive approach to workload. Ability & willingness for worldwide travel, coupled with a ‘get the job done’ attitude.
