Salary - Up to £80k
Location - Fully Remote (UK based)
ZMedia is looking for an experienced Event Director to join a leading events and media business specialising in content for human resources, resources recruitment and learning leaders.
THE ROLE
As Event Director the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the live events portfolio in America and in Europe. The role will require end-to-end management of different projects simultaneously while ensuring that all events are delivered successfully. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 8 years’ experience of organising large scale events and conferences, project driven, has excellent communication and people skills with a creative and entrepreneurial approach and the ability to work under pressure.
EXPERIENCE
· A proven record of accomplishment of a minimum of 8 years’ experience of delivering large scale events.
· Demonstrable leadership experience in successful conference production and tradeshow/exhibition operations.
· Exceptional organizational skills
· Strong numerical skills for reporting and budgeting
· Strong negotiation skills
· Customer oriented with a “can do” attitude.
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Passion and willingness to travel.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Planning and delivering all live events to a high standard and within budget.
- Working with each department in relation to their own spending / revenue generation and forecasts and acting where needed.
- Working with the Operations team to identify suitable dates, venues and delivery plans for all events that can meet both delegate and sales needs whilst reflecting the key values of the brand.
- Ensuring cohesion between event and digital revenue streams, including cross pollination of content.
- Overseeing all aspects of onsite management, including build up and load out, transportation and traffic management, registration, build productions, delegate and sponsor management, crowd management and coordination of venue and vendor teams of security, AV, catering and supporting staff.
- Lead the research, creation, and delivery of event content. Ensuring that the programmes include programme research, agenda writing, and speaker acquisition and are in line with market trends and delegate needs by directly managing the production resource.
- Ensuring that content is in response to data driven and market-led information.
- Create new, interactive features and formats that add considerable value to high-level agendas, with a focus on delivering amazing attendee, speaker, and partner experiences every time.
- Working with the CRO and Marketing Director to ensure delivery of event revenue, ensuring that the correct sales strategy is in place and is then followed throughout the campaign.
- Support the sales and marketing team by ensuring they are fully briefed on event content and opportunities.
- Ensuring the sales delivery is completed and that the clients have a positive experience and gain the needed return from their campaign.
- Running the weekly event meeting with all departmental heads in attendance to ensure critical path is being delivered and teams are collaborating.
- Be responsible for the delivery of all necessary event management plans including safety plan, risk assessment, permissions, crew staffing etc.
- Prepare and present post event evaluation.
- Strategize operational delivery of all events for the next 3 years.
- Lead on all sustainability efforts for the events.
