ZMedia is seeking a highly motivated and creative Projects Manager to manage several working groups and its related content for a boutique FinTech company.
Through their ability to establish strong relationships with senior payments professionals, active research and creative abilities, the Projects Manager will lead the development and delivery of the working groups, growing their potential to meet the needs of our members.

Through their comprehensive programme of activities for members and with guidance from an independent Advisory Board of leading payments CEOs, they produce a programme of monthly digital and face-to-face events including their annual conference and awards dinner, webinars, CEO round tables, podcasts and training activities. They connect the market-makers – informing, influencing and celebrating change and development throughout the booming UK market for Payments.
About the role
They are seeking a Projects Manager to join their creative, motivated and passionate team in this fast-growing London-based business in the payments industry.
The Projects Manager will manage three working groups, their related workstreams and output, as well as be involved with the creation and marketing of multimedia content.
They are also looking to expand with further projects in 2023 so they continue to address the various and complex issues members face in the payments industry.
Reporting to the Head of Projects, the Projects Manager will be responsible for ensuring their working groups meet the needs of members and support the wider industry by answering the questions and dealing with the issues affecting them. They will then be expected to convert this knowledge into actionable content that serves members.
The successful candidate will help to establish this business as the most important source for gaining industry know-how, collaborating, and connecting with peers and lobbying government for change.industry.
The role requires in-market research, as well as keeping track of industry developments and trends through companies, technologies, regulations and products/services. The Projects Manager is then required to use this understanding to provide the highest quality of workshops, working group meetings, podcasts, whitepapers, industry reports and events for our members. This also involves creating independent insightful and analytical content, as well as supporting the marketing strategy and maximising the commercial opportunities.
Key responsibilities
• Manage market-led project working groups designed to connect people across the payments industry
• Run the agendas for the working groups, and to establish strong relationships with project team members
• Manage the relationship with all members of the working group and external stakeholders (60+), which includes acquiring high-profile speakers, both international and local to offer expertise for the group
• Develop the strategy, themes and proposition to deliver maximum engagement and success; using content as an enabler for audience engagement. Identify opportunities and develop relationships to drive future growth and success
• Work closely and productively with our content, policy, sponsorship sales, delegate sales, marketing, events and operations teams to maximise revenue and profitability opportunities.
• Create regular market-leading thought leadership content through articles, podcasts, video interviews and events
• Become a company representative, speaking with the media about issues we are uncovering though our working groups and related content output
Copywriting
• Take primary responsibility for the content and related marketing output from the working groups
• Produce regular podcasts with important figures across the payments industry, offering thought-provoking conversation and live debate
• Write, or lead, thought leadership content that help to showcase the BENEFITS of being a Payments Association member and a participant of our activities
• Regularly write actionable articles on payments topics for weekly, monthly and quarterly publications
Deadline Management
• Consistently produce content to deadlines, budget and a market-leading standard
• Meet all KPIs within required timeframe
• Monitor project progress and set deadlines, ensuring content is delivered to the maximum standard
• Manage and track annual project budgets for each working group, monitoring and evaluating the delivery of their activities
Event Production
• Produce open mic events with ‘payments celebrity’ speakers on important topics
• Support the conference producers with physical and virtual events, advising on topics and connecting them with relevant experts for research and speaking opportunities
• Coordinate with the Head of Projects, Head of Policy, Head of Content and Conference Producers to secure public sector speakers and attendees
Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes
• Circa 2+ years project management experience
• Interest in the FinTech & Payments space
• Exceptional writing abilities, impeccable attention to detail and proof-reading skills
• Outstanding time management & organisational skills
• Excellent communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills
• Approachable and positive attitude, with the ability to lead and support all stakeholders. Stakeholder management is essential.
• Ability to work as part of a team but take responsibility for projects and related content.
